PHYTO & Marie Hair Studio for the CWC

On Sunday September 25, Marie Ferro from Marie's Hair Studio attended the Malibu Wildlife Fundraiser. This event was hosted by the California Wildlife Center (CWC), a nonprofit organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and release of a wide range of native species: from raptors and songbirds, coyote and deer, to marine mammal emergency response for the Malibu coastline.

Marie was kind enough to provide a free haircut and color for the silent auction at the fundraiser.

Marie also donated $100-worth of PHYTO products on PHYTO Hair Care's behalf for the auction.

PHYTO is proud in making a contribution to this great cause!

NYFW S/S 2012 - Phyto Haircare at VPL Show

New York is still a buzz from Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. Editors, journalists, socialites, and fashionistas hit the tents with style to view next season’s spring collections.

Phyto was proud to partner with top stylists for four fashion shows. Our first show was on Saturday September 10th at Pier 59 for VPL.

If you are not familiar with VPL, here is some background info:
VPL was established in 2003 by former stylist Victoria Bartlett. Her ready-to-wear and resort collections are underwear-inspired. Her “underwear, outerwear, anywhere” label includes handbags, shoes, and jewelry. The brand has become ever more popular and was nominated as a CFDA fashion-fund finalist in 2007. We absolutely fell in love with all of her Spring/Summer clothes but loved the shoes and accessories even more.

We collaborated with the talented Bob Recine for the show. His minimalistic hairstyle creation was executed beautifully. The inspiration was a wet, yet sculpted just got out of the shower look.

Here are the steps-by-steps on how to recreate this look:
1. Saturate the hair completely with dollops of Phyto Professional Intense Volume Mousse, working the hair back.
2. Spray Phytolaque Soie light hold hair spray onto a toothbrush to tame flyaways. Brush the hair back.
3. Finish for extra hold with Phyto Professional Workable Holding Spray. The back of the hair moved naturally.

Et voilà!

Wonderful Wanderlust!

We were excited to visit Stratton Mountain, Vermont this past weekend with fab stylist Yves Durif. If you don't know Wanderlust, you're missing out! Sweeping cultural phenomenon celebrating yoga, music and nature, Wanderlust Festival, is a one-of-a-kind yoga and music festival set within the nation's most inspiring natural scenery. Despite a very rainy weekend, we had so much fun and met some inspiring folks.

The PHYTO team was on-hand to offer eco-chic beauty at the Beauty Bar. We were in a centrally-located room between The Kula Village and The Village Anusara where we offered complimentary hair & scalp analysis with the PHYTO scope (which magnifies the hair and scalp 200x!) customized PHYTO prescriptions, and sampling.

Yves and his assistant, Vincenzo, offered attendees tips and complete makeovers. In an instant, looks were transformed!

We also met star-studded yoga teachers like Elena Brower, John Friend and Rodney Yee. Deepak Chopra also gave an inspiring lecture on Friday night.

And if you're into music, we're addicted to listening to MC Yogi, Krishna Das and Jai Uttal.
